Armed For The Call
Spreading The Gospel Around The World
Word From The President
Greetings! My name is Vester Smith III, and I have the heartfelt privilege of serving as the President and Overseer of Smith Bible Institute. My journey of faith began in July 1995 when I experienced a profound transformation at Pure Heart Church. That moment marked the start of a new life, filled with hope and purpose.
As I continued to seek the Lord and delve deeper into His word, I was blessed to find God’s House Church. Discovering that there was a Bible Institute within the church filled me with a sense of joy and excitement that is hard to describe. It felt like I had found where I truly belonged. Throughout this journey, I received incredible support and mentorship from my Pastor, Bishop Michael Shelby, Assistant Pastors, and many devoted men and women of God who guided me with love and wisdom.
When I enrolled in the classes, I approached them with an open heart, eager to learn, even though I didn’t know what to expect. But through this experience, I discovered my calling and the purpose God has placed in me: to share the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and to spread His boundless love for all of us.
Jesus once asked His disciples, “Will the Son of Man find faith when He returns?” He also entrusted them with the wonderful command to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you.” This gospel of the kingdom is meant to be shared with everyone, and I feel blessed to carry this message forward.
I genuinely pray that as you engage in your study of the word, nurture your relationship with the Spirit, and maintain a vibrant prayer life, your understanding will be illuminated. May you walk in the confidence and assurance of the Word of the Lord and feel inspired to share what you have learned with others. Your journey is important, and I am grateful to share in it with you.

- Alignment
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” (Acts 2:38-39)
Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. (Revelations 1:3)
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16)
Study
These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. (Acts 17:11) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
Memorize
How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. (Psalm 119:9-11)
Meditate
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. (Psalm 1:1-2)This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you[c] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:8-9)
Licensing and Ordination
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: (1Peter 1:10)
Discipleship
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. (Matthew 28:19-20)
Continued Education
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58)
Conclusion
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Ecclesiastes 12:13)
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. (Matthew 28:19-20)
