What's required as far as books?

Each student is required to purchase their own book, from an online source or bookstore of their choosing.  The name of the book and author is available on the “Course Syllabus”.

Do I have assignments to do?

At the end of each chapter a short review is conducted to test what you have learned. At the completion of the Biblical Studies Course an essay of approximately 1,000 words in length is required, expressing from your heart the affect the Word of God in your life.

TESTS

How am I tested?

After you have completed the number of chapters required a test will be given within modules. After submitting and passing your test, the next session will automatically open. Once a test is completed and passed it cannot be taken again. However, you can review your test and check any answer that was incorrect.

Can I use my Bible when taking tests?

Yes, you may. All SBI tests are “open book” tests, which means that you are permitted to open your Bible as well as your handbook  while you are taking your test.

Can I read back over my sessions when taking tests?

Yes, our goal is that you know what to do and where to find the information. We believe that if a person does not pass the test it is only because they did not use the means given to them for success. This is not only about passing the test but about being able to develop others to know where the information is and how to utilize what they have learned. At the end of the day we want you to “get it”.

SBI Certificates

When you have completed a full course, a Certificate of Completion will be awarded. When you complete the entire Bible Theology Studies Course you will be awarded a Diploma in Biblical Studies. Special courses are available to students whereby they will receive a Certificate of Completion. No certification are obtained for the Devotionals offered as continued encouragement. The Certificates are not sent by mail but all your Certificates are available to print from the last module within the completed course.

What is the certificate worth? What can I do with it?

While our focus is not on accreditation but on certification of Christian men and women who are called to the ministry and have prepared themselves by graduating from Smith Bible Institute with a focus on Biblical Theology Studies. This certificate shows proof of Biblical Theology Studies and may lead to Ministerial Licensing and Ordination. While we seek to impact the student in the knowledge of the Word, it has been proven through testimonies from both them and the ministries that the revelation of the Word in the heart and life of the student brings about great rewards and eternal benefits.
